Japanese Kajima Close to Bridging Gap on Abay

 

The Japanese construction firm, Kajima, is near to closing the four-metres gap on the newly constructed bridge over Abay River, 208Km north of Addis Abeba. The bridge will be open to traffic in October 2008, according to Samson Wondimu, Public Relations head of the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA).

Ethanol Blended Gas to Go on Market

Minister Girma Birrulast week instructed the six oil supplying companies to begin selling ethanol blended gasoline to car owners beginning September 2008. The Ethiopian government had, three years ago, signed a three-year agreement with Nile Peotroleum Co Ltd, the Ethiopian wing of a Sudanese state-owned giant oil producer which will supply the companies.
